Like the title says I have read many posts that basically suggest that towing a 30ish foot Tt with a 1/2 ton truck is wrong and your going to Indanger your family and anyone around you on the road tha...

My F350 weighs 8400 lbs which should be very close to what a 3/4 ton diesel crew cab would weigh. So the payload of a loaded up diesel 3/4 ton is about 1600 lbs. The payload of a Honda civic is 850 lbs. So they are all fairly similar.
What is fairly similar?
The payload of a fully optioned 4x4 crew cab diesel F250 and a Honda Civic are not far off each other....the F250 is rated for about 750 lbs, or so, more than the Civic. Put a few tools, a family, a good fifth wheel hitch in the bed of that F250 and your loaded. Gotta leave the trailer at home I guess. And the 1/2 ton is right in there pretty close to nothing for payload as well.
