Why are GM's 1500 and 2500HD roughly the same price?

I went to the website and built the same truck with the same options in the 1500 and the 2500 for both sierra and silverado. Silverado 1500 $41,285 Silverado 2500 $43,235 Sierra 1500 $42,92...
