Although not a scientific study, my observation through the years has been that there are more Class Cs on the road than there are trucks with Campers. Personally, I have never owned a Class C, and only camped in one. I have never owned a 4x4 truck, only 2WD. I have had many TCs through the years. Until the past couple of years, I have always had need for a truck.
I have always balked at owning a Class A, B, or C due the insurance cost and general maintenance for a single use vehicle. Unless you get a small unit, they are not a very good choice for commuting to work or going shopping. I think if I could accept these things, I would have a Class C. Overall, I think they are more comfortable camping.
