A small 20-24' class C is typically less than a truck camper with truck but has a much more spacious interior
There isn't a low priced class C that is as solidly built as a big 3 truck and camper combination. If you buy a solid class C like a Host, then it is just as much money if not more.
If you are just into the cheapest, I'll agree you can buy a cheaper class C, but you are getting what you are paying for.
This comes close to what I'm suspecting is the crux of the matter. I haven't heard it put in these words, but I'm getting the feeling that people feel that class C has more floor space, a more open (thus "comfortable"?) inner environment.
I can see that could be worth more money and compromise on other features for some people (especially if you don't need those features, or if you'll be plugged in most of the time or only going for weekends, etc).
But on a strict cost-to-features (including capacities) comparison, I'm still not seeing class C come out ahead. Don't get me wrong, it's not about proving one thing is better than the other. It's about making informed buying decisions and getting the best bang for the buck. The subjective nature of personal preference is part of the equation, but I'm trying to look at the objective side as much as possible.
