Why cant I use ratchet straps for tie downs????

obviously I am new to all this, that's why I asked. I was unaware that there are other spring loaded tie downs other than the fast guns. After checking on the link a previous poster provided I see there are springs
and turn buckles available....at a more acceptable (to me ) price :-)
That will be the path I will take. I have always been function over form kinda guy.

Oh my TC is worth more than $300...I should be able to squeeze at least $375 out of it an a bright summers day.;)
