Why cant I use ratchet straps for tie downs????

I am aware that the spring loaded tiedowns are the most desirable... however having been in the car hauling business I have an abundance of ratchet straps both 2" and 1" ..GOOD quality. Is there any ...

One thing I like about the fast guns is leveling the camper with the TC jacks. I almost always lower the jacks to stabilize the camper. If the camper is not far out of level I'll just use the jacks. Depending on how out if level the camper is I worry about lifting the truck too so if I have any doubt I'll just release the fast guns and level.
