When we were young, backpacking and a tent were all we needed. Loved every trip. We then upgraded to a popup tent trailer. We loved not having to deal with muddy, rainy days on the ground in the tent as well as improved cooking abilities. However, it also meant we couldn't go to all the places we tent camped.
We then upgraded to a small 22' TT. Big improvement over the tent trailer. Setup and packup were greatly reduced and we had more room. But again, it reduced where we could go.
Two years ago we upgraded to a 30' fifth wheel with two slides. FAR more comfortable inside and much easier to tow on the highway. But again, it reduced where we could go over our older TT.
Point is, when you increase side of RV, you decrease the places you can get into. It's a trade off. As I get older, my tired body prefers comfort a little more each year.
