Very true. My brother has a 3500 SF house, and it is now just he, his wife and their grown daughter. My house is 1800 SF, with me, wife and two grown daughters. I paid off my mortgage a decade ago, and he still owes a lot on his. I also pay about a third of what he pays in property taxes.
If he bought an RV, he'd probably have a 40' FW. And a 34' boat.
I own mostly Chevys and he has Acuras and Lincolns.
I go to a campground, he goes on a cruise.
His daughter went to a $50K/year private college (and now makes $20K/year salary), and mine goes to a $25K/year public college.
