Why Do Water Heater Anoides Deteriorate So FAST?

Obviously, I've been thinking about zincs. During my replacement of the heating element and subsequent questions about water heater zinc anoides, I got to wondering. See other post if you need...

My well water / untreated water is softer then the city water supply around here. At work I require a water softener (city water) and at home the water is perfect out of the ground.


How fortunate for you, that isn't our case, but we have very good city water coming from a large reservoir fed by a small river and many streams and springs.
