Why is there a 3 inch hole in the roof of my wolf creek?

Decided to remove my roof antenna on my wolf creek 850 to make room for a cargo roof carrier. Since it only had a coaxel cable running through it I thought the hole could be easily covered with dicor...

I've been curious as to what's under mine as well. The antenna is pretty much useless so I've thought of removing it but I also would have expected a small hole. I don't have the same brand of camper but I wonder if it's an industry practice.
