Thanks Bondebond.
So appreciate your earlier comment that owning a PUP is not a gateway leading to the purchase of a TT/MH, believe you make a good point that applies to many PUP lovers. For us, based on our lifestyle, our "wish list" of future travel and love of the outdoors, suspect we will feel the same as you folks.
We love Tent camping; there is nothing quite like it and still go regularly. We spent July 13-19 in Acadia NP Maine. An outstanding trip. But even with all the comforts, this old body needs a dry comfy bed these days...like it or not. Went to a hotel to sleep the last night to recover the body for the 700 mile drive home.
We are "moving up" from a tent to a PUP/Hard Side PUP. For us,this is not about a full scale home but will enjoy some conveniences to enhance traveling and the outdoor experience. HS PUP is being considered as compromise for animal protection and inevitable rain. Since we enjoy moving often, the HS PUP ease of use is a huge bonus.
HS PUP concern is: will we miss the fresh open air feeling we so love about Tent camping?
Thinking we will not get the used option unless we are lucky or willing to wait longer as HS PUPs are not often on the market, much less one with the few absolutes we want. If we went with PUP, new is only way we will go.
In either case, we go back and forth on weather to get a bathroom in the unit or not. Chalet unit with bathroom dormer could be game changer, wish Chalet had a dealer near Maryland. Last I saw closest dealer is TX.
Beginning to think our "perfect" PUP unit would be 1/2 hard side...like there are not enough options out there now! Will keep searching...
