Forum Discussion
- regis101ExplorerToo busy campin'. Sorry.
- EyegorExplorerRVing in a PUP takes a specific kind of mind-set. Most PUP owners I know don't consider themselves "RVers". They are campers, canoeists, hunters, etc. As such, if they spend times on internet forums, their interest takes them elsewhere. While our family currently moves on down a road in an old Class C, I still believe that a PUP is the perfect compromise of "camping" and "RVing".
- bondebondExplorerI am obviously a fan of PUPs. I saw quite a few in our loop when camping last weekend, to the tune of about 20%. Some were new, many were not.
Unfortunately, I've noticed that a number of answers to questions here regarding PUPs are somewhat less helpful and intended to direct people to other types of RVs. There are valid reasons for that and it is always good to hear options you haven't considered. I would just like to hear a more helpful approach and tone used when folks respond.
I started out with rv.net forums a few years ago and intend to always be around but it seems geared largely toward the other types of RVs. There are some PUP-specific forums that people find through Google, etc, that tend to be very active and draw folks there as well. I do wish for a more lively discussion here and try to weigh in where I can.
For me, the PUP is not a gateway vehicle into RVing. As we were driving around this past weekend, my wife made the comment at the same moment I was thinking it: we're not interested in moving "up" to a TT or other type. We have our reasons for that. Others have their reasons for whatever they're into. I appreciate and admire all of the rigs when we're driving around. I am quite awed by some of them.
But, for now, give me my big open windows and the sounds of night time nature (provided they're not partying type) and the soft patter of rain on the canvas (vinyl, I know). - popupcampingExplorer

um...I dont agree with this. I see them all the time on dealers lots. They are likely selling out at the dealerships you are looking at. - KilroyGuyExplorerThere are fewer pop-ups sold every year and in fact many dealers no longer carry them. - popeyemthExplorer"...Everybody with popups is too busy using them to post! ..."
That gets my vote :) - Francesca_KnowlExplorerTwo possibilities come to mind:
Either popups are so trouble free that no one needs to ask "how do I fix this" questions;
OR
Everybody with popups is too busy using them to post! - popupcampingExplorerI try. I even posted some pics of a Canoe rack I built but no one seems to comment on anything. I guess some popup owners are quiet folks.lol
