The Allie is no big deal. Just throw some better parts in it and you're good to go.
The PowerGlide only could handle about 400 HP or so when it first came out and now they can handle over 3,000............just with better parts.
We'll see! Chris - Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerThe Allie is no big deal. Just throw some better parts in it and you're good to go.

It has to be true, internet posters never lie. - spoon059Explorer II

Are they going to replace the Allison 1000 with the Ford Torque Shift or the Aisin that RAM is using. The 1000 is out of gas at current power levels.
Or they can claim bigger numbers and throw a lot of torque management at it to protect it.
You mean like Ram does with the 68RFE transmission in my truck? - Bionic_ManExplorerWhy do I have the feeling that the people calling for 425/900 are getting their inside information from the same people that swore the PowerStroke would be 500/1000?
- ksssExplorerI think the tranny is still being called a 1000. I have not heard what has been done to it with the power upgrade.

The guys with fleet numbers were able to place orders mid August. Unfortunately I don't have enough pickups to qualify as a fleet customer but the numbers were leaked out and the pickup will have 900 foot pounds and I think he said 425 hp. What I really wanted to know was the tow ratings, they did not have those. The specs are supposed to be released at the Texas State Fair. I have no idea why there but that is what I know.
425/900 is probably enough to get the Chevy to the top of the mountain in first place.

You're correct about the Alli. Awesome trans, but it's capable peak torque input at any sort of duty cycle in the upper 2 gears is pretty close to what the lml trucks are putting out.
Tq management for sure or a beefier Alli (please say yes....) has to be in the works. - Me_AgainExplorer III

Even if the were any it would be a warranty covered item. - N-TroubleExplorerBeen on the Dmax forum since 2011 and have not seen reports of oil pump problems. Sure you got you info straight???
The big dollar repairs are always the CP4s letting go.
