- joe_b_Explorer IIThat is why a person needs to leave their jacks on the camper. Now that I drive a Chevy, I am glad you posted this, as I will be more careful when hitting the throttle.
I almost did the same thing with my first TC, which I had on a J 20 Jeep pickup. No bed liner, just setting on the metal bed, no jacks, and the turn buckles supplied by the dealer, broke when I was going up a steep hill in Dawson City YT. It slid about half way out the back. A mechanic in town came out with a set of portable jacks and got it reloaded and installed new tie downs at his shop and advised me to get a rubber bed mat, which I did. About 1974 give or take. - GripnriprodExplorerMaybe he closed the tailgate after the incident. Looks like he has a removable bed liner. They are slick!
Reload? The Egyptians might be able to help? ;)
