Having a hydraulic cylinder under constant pressure really isn't a good idea......unless you REALLY need that for some reason.
Aren’t most tongue jacks mechanical? I can’t recall seeing a hydraulic one on a TT.
Also, on the tearing vinyl thing; if the proposed scenario occurred, the flooring would be under compression, not tension.
