This is a great collection of forums -- many different discussion groups. I find all of them valuable. Having said that, it is amazing how certain specific topic areas engender heated exchanges, while others are very civil. The Tow Vehicles participants can be quite blunt. The Boondocking folks tend to be very laid-back and polite. I have no idea why that should be true, but it is.
I have noticed the same thing in my classrooms (I am a teacher). Some years, the students are confrontational and competitive -- other years, much less so. It's just a function of the chemistry within the group. I do get mildly annoyed with the few folks who are intentionally rude, but that is the price of free expression.
If you are old enough to remember the days before the Internet, this resource is literally priceless -- in the old days, there was almost no practical way for users of specific products to trade tips and tricks. Now, I can shout out to folks who own a Honda generator, "What's the best way to change the oil?" I can say, "Has anyone had problems with the spindles on Lippert axles?" I post the question in the evening, and in the morning there are lots of answers.
The answers are wildly inconsistent, of course, but at least I have a big selection to choose from! ;)
