Power wouldn't be an issue at all, so as long as your weights work out right it would be fine as a tow vehicle. I personally prefer a pickup as I think they're a better value and I don't need a third row. A topper takes care of security and weather concerns if those are issues for you. The German Shepard could be an issue although he'd probably be perfectly content in a crate strapped in the bed assuming he's crate trained. Rough Tough makes a good kennel for this purpose.
Anyway, just my thoughts. Again if the weights worked for you the Navigator would tow that size trailer with ease if not economy.
