Let's see, last year my wife and I decided to buy a travel trailer. Spent some time shopping around and finally found the right one. Before closing the deal I asked her if she was going to use it with me or if it was gonna be another thing we throw money at and never use. She said that she loved camping as a kid and we should do it. So we bought it. We've taken two trips in it and then moved it to Houston. Now it sits in storage and every time I bring up camping I get my head ripped off and have to sleep on the couch. My question is should I just sell the camper or do you think she might come around?
Take the dog and go camping...and leave the wife at home ??? :)
Yup,
Of course, I'm 49 and never have been married. My friends are always trying to set me up and get me married. I'm just too happy being ;who I am; without all the extra baggage a relationship brings. I know I'm in a minority here but, that's just how I feel.
To each his own.
You may be in the minority, but you're definitely not the only one. Never married and no kids but I still have a 30' bunkhouse. It's usually just my brother and me going to the races, but I have room for when his wife and kids (all adults) want to join us. The ex-gf and I enjoyed a couple memorable camping trips before menopause hit and she went all psychotic. Being single is much more stress-free and at this point in my life, any future significant other had better check all the boxes, because I'm thru "settling".
No advice for the op that hasn't already been given. There's deeper issues there. As others have said, life is short, but an unhappy relationship can sure make is seem longer;)
