I recently found out you can use your smart phone to create your own wifi hotspot. I went into att yesterday to talk to the guy about it and by the time I left I was able to hook up his tablet to my wifi. Amazing. Came home and was able to hook up my laptop on my first try. The only thing required is the phone and a cell signal. Seems technology was marching on as I was trying to figure out my smart phone.
My current contract for 2 phones only went up $30 a month for 2 gig of data. Call your phone provider.
