Will a 75,000 BTU regulator be large enough for my PopUp

I just bought a new LP regulator with ACME threads so I can remove the tank without any tools. The largest/only one I could find was 75,000 BTU capacity. It is physically smaller than the one that was originally on the camper, but I couldn't find any rating on it. Also I could not find any BTU rating on the furnace or stove of my camper. So my question is will this be enough capacity to run my furnace, 2 burner stove, and refrigerator? I doubt all would be on at the same time but I like to be prepared.

Thanks!

  • Single stage is for BBQ grills, RVs should use dual stage. The appliances in an RV are more dependent on having the correct pressure of 11" WC. A grill operates on the same 11", but swings in pressure are not as important.

A dual stage steps the pressure down in two steps to improve the accuracy of holding the correct pressure.

Should be good, I hope you got a dual stage regulator.

No I don't think its dual stage. I'm guessing that is important?
  • If you're replacing the regulator already, go for an automatic switch-over two-stage regulator like this, assuming you have dual LP tanks. Life is just a little easier with one of these. It does require you to look at the red/green indicator occasionally to see when the primary tank is empty.
  • Furnace on my 30' Bounder is about 40,000 Btu's and most campers are in the 16,000 to 20,000 Btu rating.

The Refrigerator is about 2,200 Btu's while water heater is around 8,800. Stove is about 9,000 Btu's Chances are that you will not run the furnace while the stove and oven are all running full blast, so you should be fine.
