Using the facts, the OPs 2500 Ram is identical to a 3500 save for the holy grail gvw sticker and and higher rear leaf spring rate.
Speaking in forest gump terms, the op would be stupid to trade trucks since there are many easy, economical options for the rear end of a leaf sprung 2500.
