Assuming that by load limit you mean the towing capacity then unfortunately no. The limit really doesn't mean much on a half ton truck. You will most likely run out of cargo capacity before you get to the towing capacity. As posted above, look at the yellow sticker on the drivers door jamb and see what your capacity is. Then subtract the weight of all the occupants, a cargo topper, and any cargo in the bed from the yellow sticker. You now have your true cargo capacity left for towing which will include the trailer tongue weight and the weight of the hitch itself.
If you don't yet have a trailer see if you can get the GVWR of the trailer and take 13% of that number. For instance 7 / 13% = 1,001 lbs. take that 1,001 lbs and add another 50 pounds for a hitch and you are now at 1,051. So you would need 1,051 pounds of cargo capacity after you did the math from the yellow sticker.
