Ive had encounters with several deer over the years , the last was a big buck that was stood up and running while I was doing 60 mph , wiped out my stock bumper and grill , headlights ... to about 2000.00 worth . I used the insurance money to buy a Buckstop bumper
I haven't had a run in with a deer since but depending on how I might hit it ,worst case , if it came through the windshield , Bad . But if the bumper caught it I don't think there would be much damage, this is not just a place to hang lights
I did brain fade a few years ago and the truck hit a shed without me in it and did 5000.00 damage to it , no truck damage , no air bags
The bumper and lights added about 200 lbs , no winch yet
I think depending on the year of Dodge I like the the Road Armor bumper on 03 up and buckstop on 02 down for looks
As far as ELK go when I see a herd I just plain slow down

Sorry, Ed, that I didn't respond sooner. I'm likin' the looks of your bumper.
