To my knowledge, all electric winches sold in the U.S. now are all made in China. Speak up if you know the contrary. One other option would be to find a Warn 16.5 that was made before the China option became fact. This is what i did, defacto. My 15K Warn was used only a couple times connected to a junk car trailer and the owner found it was way too much winch for the job. I got it at half price. They are around. A different option would be a hydraulic winch. I don't know where they are made, but they take a lot more than just bolt-on and use. There is a pump, some hoses, specific to truck connecting hardware, and only work if the engine is running, but have a 100% duty cycle. It's a bit more winch for folks that will only use it very occasionally. The last option would be a military power take off winch. I had one of these on an old Land Cruiser and it worked well as you could use any gear in the transmission to regulate line speed. Your trucks should have a PTO cover on the t.case to connect the little driveline.
Braden was a made-in-America version used forever by the Military with an up-to 20K pound rating. Just more options to complicate your search.
