Window Rock Guard, Repainted With New Decal

Well the decal is headed this way and the fiberglass rock guard has a few coats of paint ... flat for the base and used Gloss to finish.
Not to pleased at how it looks though ... seems like it has spots where its shinier then others and you can tell that its for lack of a better "Spray Painted".
I paid almost 80 bucks for the decal now I'm wondering if I want to figure something else out and not waste all that money if the decal doesn't stick right and the rock guard basically looks funky with the weird spray paint look.
Not sure what to do now .. I may call and see if I can find a replacement rock guard or something.
Any thoughts?
