wine tour tc gathering - prosser wa. - may 15-18 2014

WINE TOUR

MAY 15TH-18TH 2014

PROSSER, WASHINGTON

LOCATION: Wine Country RV Park.

I have 10 sites as of now set aside for us. The sites are full hookups including cable TV. All sites are pull through sites. We will get a discount on the rates and was told it would be $37.63 per night. There is a meeting room that we can use for this gathering. They also have a portable fire pit that we can use so if the weather is good we can still have a fire to sit around. There is a SIGNATURE WINE PACKAGE that is offered at the resort for us. Cost for the package is $30.00 PER RIG (MEANT FOR 2 PEOPLE). It includes: 1 bottle of wine and 2 glasses, then several wine discounts and freebies at local wineries and establishments.

The resort is about 1/10 of a mile away from several wineries. So very easy walking distance to them.

There are more wineries a bit further away in town but still close by. There are also two breweries and one distillery. On Saturday there will be a farmers market downtown. There are several parks and walkways to enjoy. Golfing is in nearby Sunnyside Washington.

ITINERARY:

Thursday May 15th: arrival day. Dessert potluck in the meeting room at 7:00 P.M. bring your favorite dessert to share.

Friday May 16th: morning and afternoon on your own or with friends to enjoy the area and all it has to offer.

4:00 P.M. - Wine tour at Desert Wind Winery. The winery is 2.5 miles away from the resort.

cost for VIP tour is $20.00 person

it includes per person:

the tour by staff, tasting of 6 wines, barrel samples (if available), a keepsake logo glass and a light appetizer platter. The tour will take about 1 hour.

After the tour we will have dinner at the winery. To get an idea of what they serve see the link at the end.

Saturday May 17th: Spend the day on your own or with friends.

potluck dinner at 6:00 P.M. at the meeting room at the resort.

Sunday May 18th: farewell breakfast 8:30 A.M. at the resort meeting room.

Kids are welcome to come to the gathering but might not be able to go in to some of the establishments. So that is something to keep in mind if you have younger ones with you.

I am asking for a $10.00 per rig registration fee to help pay for the meeting room use fees.

Please use the link to sign up for the rally. Then afterward contact the resort and make your reservations. Let them know you are with the truck camper rally for those dates.

We hope to see you at the wine tour tc rally MAY 2014.

Would love to join your group sounds like a good time, however I am still working and live too far away. Maybe next year or the year after?

Seems I always have things going. I'll have other events I'm sure.

  • for those attending....what do you think about doing a tour at the adventurer/eagle cap factory in yakima on friday morning? i talked with greg tucknies with adventurer today at the spokane rv show and he mentioned that. its about 55 miles away from the resort. if not much interest in that then they might be able to send a couple campers down to the resort.

  • just a reminder about this gathering. there are 7 sites left at this time that I reserved.
  • the resort has added more to the wine package deal that I mentioned for the $30.00. there is another winery added and a discount at local business that specializes in cheeses.

we have sites 22-27 and 37-40. I am in site 27.
  • Sounds like a great time. If only we lived closer we would jump at it.
