Winter camping on Mobile Bay
I don't want upset our friends in the north, but we just spent 4 days on Mobile Bay at Meaher State Park while attending Mobile's Mardi Gras. With High temps in the 50s and lows in the 30s,and a steady wind of close to 30 mph. It wasn't swimsuit weather but we had beautiful sunny skies and some awesome parades.
Meaher State park is small with only 56 full hook up sites, but every one are level and offer some great views of the bay. It's only 10 minutes from the USS Alabama battleship and 20 minutes from Downtown Mobile. The #1 rule of the camp ground-Do Not feed or harass the Alligators.
