I would add that I pressureize the system and then starting at the faucet closest to the water inlet open one at a time, working my way downstream. If you open all at once, the air pressure will find the path of least resistance and may not clear some locations.
A small amount of water left in a line NOT under pressure will not cause any problems as it has room to expand.
