wiper (flap) seal won't flip over completely on slide

I've started to notice some noise and drag when retracting my slide out. It's coming from the flap seal on the side of my slideout. The top and bottom of the flap flips over but the center portion is still pointing the wrong way which grabs on the slide causing the noise and drag. Any sugggestions on how to get the flap to flip over completely? Thanks...
  • This has been happening on my TC slide too also although usually the upper corner only. I use a smooth broom handle to turn it open with a rolling action. I will try wax for slide side.

I too wax the sides often.. Was also told to use pledge furniture polish on the wiper seals... It wont dry them out, and is a whole lot cheaper than the stuff that is sold for that..

  • Don't you need some friction so the flap will grab and flip over when changing slide direction? Seems like lubing the flap would just cause it to slide along and not flip over. Keeping the flap pliable with some sort of conditioner seems like a good idea but I'm still puzzled over the friction aspect.
  • Yah, I have the same thing...

I asked dealer and he noted it's a common issue and that there is an Inner seal behind to keep stuff/rain out, but I agree, looks a little disturbing.. I tried to pull it out, but top corner is a little tough. Tried some slippery stuff, didn't help much. I think if I can get the corner pulled out, it might work.. dunno...
    Standing by for additional solutions..

  • Silicone spray will keep the rubber soft and lubricated.
