I first bought a small 1/4 drive impact and decided the noise was too loud for my fellow campers. It was fast and compact. I finally went with a 18 volt Makita drill driver. Bought it for $99 bare tool reconditioned. I already have batteries from my other Makita products. Works great for me but sometimes the DW hurts her wrists if she isn't careful. I caution her to use 2 hands and make sure its set for the correct direction. That thing can jerk you hands pretty good.
Can you set the drill to ratchet - like the screw driving settings? That is what we do so no risk to anyone's wrist.
Good point, I think most drills have a torque adjustment dial that would help alleviate having a hurt wrist. Mine has a dial that goes up to 20 and then a picture of a drill bit for max torque.
