10.3 mpg is not bad at all considering the load. I'm happy when I see 10.x
I can comment on this: Yes, hook a load onto it and the tranny behaves much better. Without a load it wants to get up to the next gear too quick, like speed shifting unless you put your right foot into it.

Was a little disappointed that the transmission felt like it was trying to keep me out of the power. I hope that would change with tow mode and max towing rear end. Any comment on that?
