We considered the sofa layout but really didnt want to loose the storage that the dinette offers. Northwood really doesnt promote the sofa option, which somewhat baffles me, since so many seem to like the option. My dealer knew about it but it was never shown in their brochure back in 2010.
For those that have the dinette and dont want to do a complete removal, an alteration of what you have (dinette) might be something to consider. Also gives us a great place to store the dirty clothes basket. This is what I did:

We travel using just the U shaped couch set up and store the table under the bed mattress. When we need the table we can set it up in a few seconds. We can also convert it to a full dinette if need be.
