Wolf pup 16fq or Apex nano 187rb

Hello,

Wife and I have narrowed our search down to either the Apex Nano 187rb or the wolf pup 16fq due to layout (walk around queen, full fridge, dry bath) and weight.

Wolf pup

Any feedback as to what one would have the better buid quality / longevity out of the two?

The Apex is fancier looking on the outside and a few thousand dollars more, has an aluminum skeleton and the fiberglass azdel siding. The wolf pup has really nice stairs is stick built and has aluminum siding.
  • We just sold our 1st trailer a 13ft scamp it had 10ft of living space 13ft tip to tail with full kitchen, full bath and a bed it was a little tight.

Our choices are limited right now by our tow vehicle but it is the only truck that will fit in our garage, it is paid for and we are about 5 years out from retirement when we will buy a larger vehicle and probably a 5th wheel

    2016 Nissan frontier
    6100 lb towing capacity
    610 lb hitch
1157 lb payload (from sticker on door)
    11,230 GCWR

Pretty good torque from the V6, been pondering the 191rbs it has the walk around bed and a nice slide W dinette. Its about 325 lbs more than the ones listed above and still under my self imposed under 3500 lb as shipped dry weight.
  • Another vote for Apex.... Quick glance: Larger holding tanks and a Pantry.
  • I'd take the Apex over the Wolf Pup any day. Biggest concern with both is the CCC. The Apex is really really low.
If this is your 1st TT and you have a tow vehicle that can tow more weight I'd seriously look at something larger with tandem axles. We started with the same layout and it got old real fast. We came from tents and it seemed like a castle. Problem was it soon felt like a studio apartment.
A dinette slide would really open things up.

  • Personally I would want the fiberglass and Azdel. I own a Cherokee product and have been pleased with it but I feel the construction of the Apex is better.
