Just curious to find out how popular are truck campers with women?I have no problem taking my truck camper anywhere with me… off road and on road… I really enjoy the fact that it is easy to maneuver and it offers all the amenities needed for luxurious camping.I am not single but love to travel by myself and my dog since my partner doesn't enjoy the outdoors. I think that you might not ever get much "open" response to your question from the women on the TC Forum.There are several women that own truck campers and "hide" behind their forum name... privacy issues.Some keep the camper and their husbands forum name after becoming widows... a few of us "know" and respect their privacy.Many feel vulernable... camping alone... and prefer to stay out of the spot light.I think part of the reason there are a few people that attack at every opportunity... on any subject... even if they have to make up stuff to do it. (I block them)About 7 or 8 years ago a very nice lady was verbally attacted and took it very hard. She went away for a while and returned with a different forum name. My wife and I know her and her partner personally. Wonderful people. She has owned several RV's includeing two truck campers.Strangely, we know her antagonizer... also normally a nice person. We like him and his wife too.You might avoid divulging too much info until you get to know who people really are.SleepyBTW... my wife says she will not consider using our TC if something happens to me.... the safety issues.

I had a lady in a truck camper in the adjacent site last time I was camping. So it seems that others are out there.

We camp in ours all the time. In Texas there's also a group of women that have a by invitation only group that meets up at various locations. We feel pretty safe with four dogs and a Glock. ;)

I have a travel trailer now but will be selling and buying a truck camper next year. I have no problem traveling or camping alone.

My wife likes using the truck camper by herself and has also camped with her mother, niece, and our daughter individually and together. Up to this point, she hasn't loaded the camper, but there hasn't been a lot of need. I'm confident that she could if needed, but usually, she is getting stuff ready when I'm loading the camper if it isn't already on. We see women by themselves sometimes. Last weekend, we saw a woman in a small tent by herself with the exception of her dog. She wasn't overt with where she was camped although she walked the campground. She turned in early and was up and gone early on the way to her next adventure. I'm sure there are women who stay in the RV while their counterparts are out doing activities. Other than traveling, they would be just as safe by themselves since they are for all practical purposes camping by themselves.A few words about physical and internet safety since the topic was opened. Sure, it makes sense to be careful about what information you divulge if you are female, but the same goes for males for any information on the internet even if you know their internet personna. I don't think there are a lot of people out there that can stand up for themselves just because they are male even if they know the who to look out for. Weapons help but prevention is better! You get to choose how paranoid you want to be. If you want to know why you should consider your safety, read the news or avoid it for the opposite case.
