Woo Hoo! Bought my first pickup truck!

Always owned cars & SUVs for personal use.
Had/have many 3/4 ton cargo work vans and a 1 ton box truck for my contracting business.

Just signed for my first Pickup truck ever. Getting it in two days.

Sheeze, pickups are way pricey compared to vans. Was in sticker shock when I started looking a few months ago, but I got over it.

Super hard pressed to find a - *ahem* - reasonably priced late model 3/4 ton truck here on Long Island.

2016 f250 XLT with just under 15k miles.

Carfax says it was a rental, but 2of3 valuations show higher pricing. So I *believe* I got a fair deal.

$1000 off sticker.
KKB lists +$7k
Edmunds lists +$2.5k
NADA lists exactly what I paid.

Anyway, real excited here - and DW loves it - so that's a lock!

Now, searching the web for a brake controller and running boards.
  • Congrats on the new truck.... And that 6.2 is about as reliable as a anvil.
  • :? There is no manual control for the ABS, it is computer controlled. That boy needs to brush up on his product knowledge. BTW, nice truck.

I think that truck has a factory installed brake controller. The pic of the AC controls shows -+ controls on the bottom left. That's a brake controller. I'd run with it, but the P2 is a fine unit.

    Apparently, you are correct!

Honestly, I knew a bit more about the truck then the salesman did, just by reading up on most of the specs before I went there.

I specifically asked about the brake controller on the dash. He said he *believes* the controller in the truck is for the adjustment of the 'trucks' abs while towing and not for the trailer.

However, I just looked in the manual and it says it has and Integrated BC.

Yeah just what I was thinking, the installed brake controller works just fine.

  • Even if it was a rental/fleet truck most of the time those are some of the best maintained vehicles on the road.

    Nice truck

Yeah, need to get the 4wd permit for Cupsogue & Montauk.
For right now we reserved a few nights at Indian Island with the green key, and we have reservations for a week at Lancaster Jellystone over July 4th

    That should haul your TT.

It should. My TT is only GVW 6800, but I didn't want an f150 bc PL is kinda low.

My TT *lists* a dry TW of 700. Figure actual TW 1000 and 500 for people and I'd have no payload left for beer.

    This 2016 f250 XLT:

    GVW 10,000
    TC 12,500
    PL 2957
    WB 157"
    RGWAR 6100
    FGWAR 2177
    Axel 3.7
