I have always heard that there was a brand of trailers that the con artists sell. Supposedly, they look good but are junk underneath. The story goes that they shine these things up and sell them to the unsuspecting as top of the line rigs. Anything to this, or just another urban legend?The reason I ask is that five "No name" trailers with big "For Sale" signs on them were in a campground in Ohio that I was visiting. I could not even find the brand on the Internet.

For what its worth there are custom shops building RVs that aren't "name brand" as to their quality I am sure it runs the gamut...

Years ago we encountered a band of Gypsies in a state park. They had large Franklin travel trailers with for sale signs on them.

Not a myth, but have not seen this for a long time.

I "could" have reported the license plate thing to the Ohio authorities, but the only reason I even noticed them was that they were from my home state of Illinois. We require two plates, so it would be easy to stick the second one on the back. I doubt that Ohio would really care much.

Well, that tells us something about the sellers! What kept you from pointing that out to a local LEO???? Makes one wonder about the plates on the trailers, too...did they have any?

I've never heard of this before, but it really does sound like a traveling "used trailer" lot- how strange!
