Would I hurt the truck ?

  • 7500 pounds dry with how much TW - 900 pounds? That's going to make the rear suspension cry on a Taco without a WDH. For the cost of even a cheap WDH (~$200), rent a 3/4 ton or negotiate delivery into the deal.

This ^^ a good dealer will throw delivery in with the deal, it's a no-brainer.

Especially if it is only a 3 mile drive down the road. They should have no problem with delivering it.

  • That is a brand new, expensive truck, so why riisk it? I would find a better way.

Hire it done. Won't add that much to the cost of the unit.

You can also rent a truck from Enterprise Truck, to tow you have to go with the 3/4 ton or 1 ton. Prices were reasonable, like $150 for 1 day with unlimited miles. Borrow a drop shank from the dealer.
  • If you can keep the front wheels on the ground, probably wouldn't hurt the truck. Mr. Murphy could really ruin your day, though.
    I wouldn't tempt him.
