Would you run these tires?

I wouldn't tow that trailer to the tire store. If I put a lot of miles on a trailer in a short time, I would prefer LT tires. As it is, I might put 5k a year on them. I prefer ST tires as I too have read on the manufacturer's websites that ST tires are made of compounds that are better suited to sitting for weeks at a time, used hard, then sit and repeat. By the time I've reached their typical 25k mile life expectancy, they've already been replaced due to time, not mileage. For me that's about 3-5 years max.

Since new tires are not in the budget right now, I'm shopping 100% price on this deal. Just put new Revo's on the Burb in December and also new Michelins on DW's Magnum the month before. Was hoping to squeeze one more season from these LTs on the trailer, but I guess my time is up, especially since we are heading to FL for a week in May.

Found a great deal on the TBC Thunderer 404 at Big O, $300 for a set of 4 after rebate.

I have LT tires that are 5 years old that sit on concrete in the TX heat that don't look anything like that. I will be using the trailer this week with those tires and I am generally paranoid about trailer tires having three ST tires come apart on me.

I will replace our 5 year old LTs (with another set of LTs) before we do any 1000 mile driving on 100 degree interstates this summer.

I bet the tires are not covered when not being used. I load my tires up with Armor All and cover...been doing this since my first camper in 83 and never dry rot. As for the sitting of LT's....never heard that.

The TT is parked in a spot that is covered in wood chips....we took in out in Jan and came back to unseasonably warm temps so I had some mud to deal with.

As stated the tires are LT, not ST, with date code 50-10, so not even 5 years old yet. We didn't get a lot of trips in the last couple of years, so making me wonder if LT tires have less ability to endure sitting than ST tires.

I was planning to replace the tires this year, but looks like I need to do it in next couple of days before we leave on our Easter trip. Not what I wanted to see, to say the least.
