Forget if its a 1/2 or 1 ton. Neither one should be towing a 38 foot FW. Talk about the tail wagging the dog when something goes wrong on the road.
These fifth wheels are getting more and more gigantic. Taller and longer.
Everyday I see these huge ones on the road it always looks like a small toy truck is pulling them. Even if the TV is a honkin dually diesel 4 door extended 1 ton truck, IMHO these new gigantic RV's are too much trailer to be on the road with a plain ole pickup truck.
I'd say over 98% of the ones I see driving down the road do 'not' have a truck that is appropriate for towing one.
Yup they can pull them on the flat, but have anything happen they are no where's near capable of keeping them wheels down after any correction. I stay WAY WAY away from them on the interstates.
