Now this makes some difference in my mind, but I still haven't seen anything to suggest he was over his tire capacity (one legal hurdle) or his axle capacity (not a "legal" hurdle, but not wise to exceed anyway) or his GCWR (not a legal hurdle either, but again its not wise to exceed that number). I know that a lot of HD trucks have gotten away from 17's (with the exception of DRW's for some reason), because the 18's have better load rating.
I still stand by my theory... unless he is over axle rating, tire rating or GCWR he is fine. Yes, there is a better truck, but there is ALWAYS a better truck. Its not about having the BEST, its about having an acceptable tool for the job.
