Same frame, same body, same axles, same brakes, same powertrain... I just don’t see the difference.
They won't be able to tell you because they are just old guys who are still living in the days when there was a differences between the 2500 and 3500 trucks. They don't want to accept that times have changed and that the 2500 and 3500 trucks are identical in every way except for their rear suspension which have ratings that are not too far from each other. The rear suspensions rating for my 2500 is only 500 lbs less than a 3500 of the same year and their are plenty of suspension modifications like beefier coils or air bags that will make up that difference. However, I have yet to need those things even when I have had well over my truck's government regulated payload in the back of my bed.
