The 2500 frame flare's out to make room for the coils (springs inside the frame)whereas the 3500 has a strait frame rail to make room for the leafs (outside the frame). In addition notice how the shocks on the 2500 go thru the frame is even different.
Nope, they are the same basic frame and are just altered with different brackets and hangers for the different suspension. That hole for a shock on the 2500 is covered with a bracket on the 3500's drivers side just as your picture shows and a shock bracket for the other side(the 3500 has staggered shocks). I seen both with my own eyes at the Texas State fair a few years ago.
But I guess we can't trust people like Pickuptrucks.com....

2014 Ram 2500 HD 4x4 Diesel
"Although it was all-new for 2013, the heavy-duty Ram 2500 made its own kind of news this year by ditching traditional leaf springs in favor of a coil-spring, five-link rear suspension with an auto-leveling air-spring option and by sharing the full-ton 3500 model's stiffer frame."

2014 Ram Heavy Duty Pickups Upgraded, Gain Air Suspension
"Last year, Ram 3500 pickups gained a new three-link front suspension design, wider frame rails made of 50,000 psi steel, and a gooseneck/fifth-wheel trailer hitch mount integrated into a rear frame crossmember – but the 2500 trucks did not. Those features have now been ported to the 2014 Ram 2500 pickup range."

2014 Ram Truck Brochure
"The 2014 Ram 2500 frame now matches the recently upgraded 3500 frame, using 50 ksi steel—up from 35 ksi, with two new, additional crossmembers contributing to robust towing and hauling. Hydroformed front and rear sections supply durable strength and mass efficiencies, with rail contours ideally placed for the suspension components and ancillary mounts"
OK lets try again...Looking at your first link at the 2500 rear suspension how can a leaf spring pack fit between the frame and the wheel?
Here's a picture of a 3500 frame that's doesn't have the frame flare (bulge) so it has clearance for the leaf springs. Also this same picture came from you same mags.

The above picture came from Truck Trend from a 2015 ram 3500
