The coil springs trucks have the shocks inline with the frame and the coils are on the inside of the frame rails. Notice in the picture below how the coils mount closer to the middle of the axle. The torsion bars are also closer to the middle and are angled outward to connect to the frame.
With the leaf spring suspension, the leafs are mounted inline with the frame and the shocks are on the inside of the frame. Notice how far the leafs are from the middle of the axle in the picture below. They are inline with the frame just like the shocks are on the coil springs suspension.
