YEP we had a conversation of the quality of build and what a shame they were no longer built.
Like I said if you see something that is or may be a life/safety situation there are ways to let someone know like I did as part of a friendly chat. The guy DID appreciate me letting him know he most likely was over his tires capacity and a trip to the scales would confirm that one way or the other.
Personally even with the tires being ok I would never tow something so heavy with that truck. Heck yea it will pull it but how will it do in a panic lane change with hard braking?
Your honest opinion on your setup, and weight, how will it do in a hard brake, and lane change , or even a hard jerk of the steering wheel to avoid something, what do you think the results are going to be.
IMO I would not like to find out with either one of you with the weight you are towing , braking is one thing, but a sudden jerk of the wheel at say 65 mph ?? Either one of you with that weight , again IMO is not going end well.
If you have a B&W hitch this may be the result as happened here with a trailer that weighted way less than the trailer that is the subject of this posting.
