Here’s what I noticed and had to do some looking.
Check out that horizontally mounted Bilstein in the center of the 2500 axle housing. It is there to reduce axle wrap.
This is a hot topic of discourse with the performance diesel guys, for whom axle wrap and tramp is an issue during acceleration. They are finding the single,shock inadequate and have all sorts of hacks around it.
What’s odd is that axle wrap is normally an issue associated with leaf springs. Coils, as we all know, theoretically positive locate the axle with control arms that dictate it’s movement throughout its travel.
