Wow...CW's service

My new trailer needed the vinyl strip on the inside tacked back on since it fell off. When CW tacked it, the guy used staples that were too long and ended up going through the wall and sticking out the back of my camper. I turned my camper over to them to be repaired October of last year and just got it back on Saturday. I didn't mind the length in time they had it since Camping season was over.

A couple of things that make me waiver back and forth on what I think of their service. They had me come up 3 different times to pick it up after it was painted and the finish was a shade off, however, they were very nice about it and agreed that it needed to be repainted. When I picked up the trailer (finally), they replaced my sink top that was faded (I believe due to bleach), washed it really well and dewinterized it.

When it was all said and done, they replaced the back with a new back vs painting it. My issue with the whole thing (besides this mistake happening in the first place) is why didn't they notice the paint being a shade off all 3 times versus having my prep my vehicle to come pick it up only to find out it wasn't right. It was like they were wanting me not to notice since they didn't agree to it being a shade off until I said something.

I still don't know what I think of their service since I'm impressed with some things and not so impressed with others.

  • You said new so I take this was warranty work. I can tell you the RV repair tech I know and have meet at Camping World are top rate individuals. If this was warranty work the manufacture makes all the decisions not CW. The staple size was probably the size told to CW from the manufacturer. As far as the paint this is a manufacturer recommendation since they always say paint and see if the customer finds the problem. I've seen rigs sit for weeks because the color the manufactures says it was painted does not match. Glad you have it fixed for the camping season.
  • they should have replaced the panel the first time, they though they could get away with the paint jobs .painting it just cost them a little labor , from your post I,d not go back they did you no favors.

And this kind of nonsense ( staples going through a wall ) is a big part of why I like to do my own work on my trailer.
Sadly, repair industries such as this tend to often be managed in these ways: hire the cheapest help they can get, give them minimal training, and hope for the best.

Hopefully, in the end, they repaired your trailer to your satisfaction. sheesh....what a hassle.
