Tow ratings are for a perfect world. Your SUV needs a factory tow package.
Watch your payload, hitch weight and frontal sq ft area of the TT you plan to buy.
I towed boats using an X and I would not like to tow more than 3500# of real weight. Real rolling down the road weight....NOT a posted dry weight from a manufacturer.
Research TT's in the 3000-3500# range. Pick a floorplan that you think would work for you and RENT the trailer before you buy one.
