I also tow with a first generation Xterra. Trailer weight was typically 2900 pounds. 2 people and a dog in the truck. Not much else in it. Power was severely lacking, and I’m not one to tow fast anyway. Second generation has a bunch more power, longer wheelbase, and 1 extra gear in the automatic transmission, so hopefully much better.
