We have a 20-gallon tank in our Tundra (one of its very few shortcomings, IMO) so we have to stop for gas about every 150 miles when towing. That's just a fact of life. We have never found ourselves in a spot without access to gas soon enough. You shouldn't have a problem with gas, other than the hit in the wallet, going to Yellowstone with your current rig.
