I live about 90 miles from Yellowstone and have the same truck you do and pull almost twice as much with it at times. I can get it down to 6 mpg on uphill pulls with 14k behind it. As stated, you will have no problems with fuel all the way through to Yellowstone. It gets more expensive the closer you get to Yellowstone, but its there. The 6.0 will pull just fine and depending on what route you take the passes are not that bad. I would not recommend you come over Teton Pass if you plan on coming into Idaho, not that it wont pull it with 8K because it will, but it might cause some stress on the way down.
